Dyke August 21, 0098 9540 200 Significance : palaeobiology; paleobiologie Associated taxa : Mammalia: Balaena mysticetus Aditional Information : Moved to the 9 ka sheet in MAH, as the 2-sigma limit extends to <9500 BP. It appears under ice on the 10 ka sheet. QdHk-VP: A large otic capsule fragment and the periotic bones were collected from both sides of a fragmented bowhead skull 50% buried in medium beach gravel and capped by peat. The skull is too fractured to measure, but the size of the periotic bones indicates a small animal. Other bones of the same animal occur on another beach ridge 1 m higher. | |
